Available 24hours a day, 7 days a week for equine emergencies

We are dedicated, equine-only, veterinary practice based in Wrexham, on the Cheshire/North wales borders.

The practice (formerly Wrexham Veterinary Care) was founded in early 2009 by Mark Andrews. In October 2011 we became Wrexham Equine Care providing the same high standard of care to horses across Cheshire, North Wales, Shropshire and the Wirral.

The team of experienced equine vets, led by Mark Andrews, pride themselves on providing the highest standard of veterinary care for your horse, in a professional, caring and compassionate manner. We provide our own emergency cover, so when it matters most you can rely on a vet you know and trust; 24hours a day, 7 days a week.

All of our vets have at least 7 years’ experience and have undertaken further training in order to pursue their main areas of interest. These include; equine lameness, surgery, reproduction, foal medicine’ dentistry and equine medicine. Click on ‘meet the team’ to find out more.

As one of the most modern practices in the area we have invested heavily in the technology required to assist with diagnostic procedures and treatments: cutting edge digital x-ray, ultrasound scanners, endoscopes, shockwave therapy, powered dentistry and much more.

We have close links with several major referral centres including; the Philip Leverhulme Large animal Hospital at Leahurst (part of the university of Liverpool), Rossdales & Partners in Newmarket and Oakham Veterinary Hospital in Rutland. With visiting specialists including Rachel Conwell BVetmed Cert EM(int) DECEIM MRCVS, a visiting equine internal medicine specialist, your horse is never far from the care it needs.
